Starting Hand

How to Play ATs — Ace-Ten suited Preflop Strategy

ATs is a premium starting hand: GTO opens it first-in from all 5 positions in a 6-max cash game, and it stays in the shoving range down to the shortest stacks. It's a raise-or-shove hand — never a fold first-in. In numbers: it opens 100% from every seat, button and lojack alike; at 15bb it is a first-in shove from 7 of 7 seats; heads-up against AKs it has 29.1% equity.

Playing ATs preflop

A premium hand — open it first-in from every position. As stacks get short it only gets stronger — at 5bb ATs is a jam from essentially every seat.

ATs opens from every seat — it's strong enough to raise even under the gun (LoJack), where you have the whole table left to act behind you. Position doesn't change the decision here: it's an open everywhere.

The common mistake with ATs is playing it too passively — slow-playing or flat-calling when the solver simply raises it for value from every seat. Open it, and be ready to get the money in.
