PioSolver alternatives: online, cheaper to start, no machine to buy
PioSolver is the reference desktop solver. The alternatives below are compared on price, on what they run on, and on what you can use for free. Prices checked 24 October 2026 and sourced at the bottom.
Short answer
PioSolver Pro is €450 once, plus applicable taxes, one year of updates included, and runs on your own Windows computer. To spend less, GTO+ is $75 once and TexasSolver is free for personal use. To skip the download and the hardware, a browser solver runs on any computer or phone: BeyondGTO's free plan includes three solves a day, and Pro is $24.99 a month billed yearly.

Desktop or browser: the real choice
A desktop licence is paid once and the tree is entirely yours to build. The cost that does not appear on the price tag is the computer: a local solver is limited by memory and processor cores, which decide how big a tree you can solve and how long you wait. PioSolver's own product page sets its licences by thread count, up to 16 for Pro and 64 for Edge.
A browser solver moves that work to a server. Nothing is installed, it works on a Mac, a Chromebook or a phone, and solve time does not depend on your machine: the median flop solve here takes 5.3 seconds of solver time (measured on 423 real solves). The trade is that you rent rather than own, and you work within the tree options the service offers.
On a Mac
PioSolver, GTO+ and Simple Postflop list Windows. Simple Postflop says Mac users can run it through Parallels or Boot Camp, and TexasSolver lists macOS among its platforms. Browser solvers, BeyondGTO and Deepsolver among them, need nothing but a browser.
Where PioSolver is stronger
- Total control of the tree. Multiple bet sizes on every street, scripting, and a viewer built for deep research.
- A preflop solver at Edge. Adds a heads-up preflop solver and up to 64 threads.
- You own it. No subscription, and if you already have a strong Windows machine, the hardware cost is already paid.
If you build bespoke trees for research, PioSolver is the right tool. If you mainly want to check spots from your own hands, a browser solver gets you there without the setup.

Questions
- How much does PioSolver cost?

- Is there a cheaper alternative to PioSolver?
- GTO+ is a one-time $75, TexasSolver is free and open source for personal use, and Simple Postflop has a free turn and river version. In the browser, BeyondGTO has a free plan with three AI solves a day and Pro at $24.99 a month billed yearly.
- Is there an online poker solver with no download?
- Yes. Cloud solvers such as BeyondGTO and Deepsolver run in the browser, so nothing is installed and the solving happens on a server rather than your computer.
- Is there a poker solver for Mac?
- A browser solver works on a Mac with nothing to install. Among desktop solvers, TexasSolver lists macOS, and Simple Postflop says Mac users can run it through Parallels or Boot Camp.
- Do I need a powerful computer for PioSolver?
- Your memory and processor cores decide how big a tree you can solve and how long it takes, so a desktop solver works best on a capable Windows machine. A browser solver does not depend on your hardware.
